1. Acrylic Hardline Road Transit Risk
Acrylic (PMMA) tubing is rigid and brittle. Road vibration and chassis flex during transit can exert lateral torque on G1/4" fittings, dislodging tubes from internal O-rings. Always drain the coolant completely before driving home and transport the case laid flat on its back.
2. Missing Stock GPU Cooler = Void RMA
Water-blocking an XFX MERC 310 card requires removing the factory air heatsink. If the seller does not provide the original heatsink, backplate, and screws, the GPU cannot be RMA'd with the manufacturer and cannot be easily resold to standard PC buyers.
3. Alcohol Chemical Crazing Hazard
Acrylic components (reservoir, pump top, water blocks) shatter if exposed to Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) or alcohol-based wipes. Always inspect fitting threads for spiderweb micro-cracks (crazing) caused by solvent exposure or overtightening.
4. Coolant Sludge & Microfin Clogging
Pastel and opaque coolants degrade after 6–12 months of thermal cycling, depositing chalky residue inside the 0.15mm microfins of the CPU and GPU cold plates. Shine a flashlight into the clear acrylic block tops to ensure channels are crystal clear.
